Various sucky aspects of MySQL are a common theme around use Perl. I recently started a page on my home-site collecting Links that speak against MySQL, and I ask the collective wisdom of the use Perlers for learning about more.

Both completely out of date. MySQL has has ACID-compliant transactions for many years, and 5.0 provided strict SQL compliance years ago too.
